About CMAC

What we are about…

The Cincinnati Martial Arts Club is under the direction of Master McDuffie Strickland. As a student, he started studying Tae Kwon Do in 1973 under Mr. Mike Gardner. Mr. Gardner was the inspiration behind Mr. Strickland’s success. Now, with over 35 years of experience, Mr. Strickland brings his own unique method of teaching to all ages.

In 1981, Mr. Strickland began researching self-defense systems. By training under instructors of Aikido, Jujisu, Jeet Kune Do and Kung Fu, he realized that all styles are effective through proper training methods. After 18 years of research, Mr. Strickland founded “The American System of Self-Defense”, better known as TASOS. He was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in July, 2006.

Master McDuffie Strickland believes in investing time in our community’s school children as well. He routinely gives free seminars to schools and organizations to show that the martial arts are about Respect, Discipline, Determination, Perseverance and Confidence.

CMAC has visited a number of local schools. We’ve brought our unique method of teaching to J.F. Dulles and C.O. Harrison Enrichment days, St. Antoninus, St. Jude, Visitation and Lourdes, Boy and Girl Scout meetings, Delhi Middle School and Rapid Run Middle School gym classes.

We appreciate your interest in our school.
